Litigation Attorney
Richard Villalba, Esq. is an attorney at Perez Mayoral P.A., where he focuses his practice on disputes involving Community Associations, Commercial and Business disputes, and Real Estate matters. Mr. Villalba represents his clients through all phases of legal proceedings which include but are not limited to pre-suit negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, litigations, and trials.
Mr. Villalba began his career as a Litigation Attorney at a Miami-based personal injury firm, where he represented clients in premises liability, motor vehicle, and trucking accident cases, helping injured individuals across Florida obtain compensation for the negligence of others.
In addition to his litigation background, Mr. Villalba has significant experience in transactional work. While in law school, he served as a student attorney certified by the Supreme Court of Missouri and worked in the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic, where he provided legal guidance to community members on forming nonprofit organizations and other business entities. He also clerked at a Miami law firm, where he gained experience in first-party homeowner’s insurance litigation and assisted with all aspects of real estate transactions. In addition, Mr. Villalba served as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem in Florida’s 11th Judicial Circuit, advocating for the best interests of children.
Mr. Villalba earned his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was awarded a Dean’s Scholarship. He also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and holds an Associate’s degree with Honors from Miami Dade College.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Villalba spent more than nine years in the technology industry as a Systems Engineer. This experience gave him valuable insight into the inner workings of diverse businesses and fostered an engineer-like approach to problem solving that he now applies to his legal practice.
