Litigation Attorney
Lucia Liens is a litigation attorney at Perez Mayoral, P.A., where she represents homeowners in disputes against homeowners’ associations and condominium associations throughout Florida. Her practice focuses on community association disputes involving maintenance and repair obligations, improper assessments, covenant and rule enforcement, board misconduct, selective enforcement, and official records issues. She represents clients through pre-suit proceedings, DBPR arbitrations, mediations, and litigation, approaching each matter with a strategic and litigation-focused mindset from the outset.
Lucia also handles complex real estate and commercial disputes, with experience managing matters from pre-suit investigation through litigation and resolution. Her practice involves extensive work in written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and overall case strategy. She is known for her attention to detail, command of the facts, and ability to develop practical legal strategies tailored to her clients’ objectives.
Prior to joining Perez Mayoral, P.A., Lucia represented insurers in heavily litigated first-party property disputes involving hurricane, water intrusion, and other complex property damage claims. Through that experience, she handled matters throughout all stages of civil litigation, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, expert-related issues, and case resolution strategy. In addition to developing substantial knowledge regarding causation, damages, and property-related disputes, this background provided her with extensive hands-on experience handling fast-moving and highly contested cases.
Lucia began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, where she gained significant courtroom experience handling both misdemeanor and felony matters involving serious issues before the court. In that role, she regularly appeared in court, argued motions, handled evidentiary issues, conducted hearings, negotiated resolutions, and managed active criminal dockets in a high-volume courtroom environment. That experience helped develop the courtroom presence, advocacy skills, and practical litigation foundation that continue to shape her practice today.
Lucia earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and is admitted to practice in the State of Florida.
